Christmas Scrap Days...... |
|
Although it has been awhile since I last added an
entry, life continues at a very fast pace.
With three boys in the house, there is never a dull
moment - if only I could get all my mental ideas
and daily pics documented I would have enough to
fill many albums!!
I was able to complete a small number of cards to
contribute to the Support Our Troops Christmas card
project, sponsored by the local scrapbooking store
(LSS), this year. The joint efforts of local card
makers sent + 450 cards this 2nd year. May our
troops feel the care and concern included with each
card that was donated for them to use to send to
their friends and families back home.
I am currently working on an order for an album for
a daughter's Christmas gift - a year in the life of
a little girl contains so much fun and so many
changes - what a special gift her Dad is going to
give her this year :)
Upcoming projects include a Baby's 1st Year album,
a Disney album and piles of my own family photos!
I also hope to have access to highspeed sometime in
the new year and that will allow me to improve this
site much more frequently and effectively. One
small change, on dial-up, takes me about 15 minutes
to update. :( Uploading pics is a total bust. It is
hard to be patient myself so I would ask for your
continued patience as I build this site (slow but
sure)
May this Season be filled with tiny blessings :)
Merry Christmas!

After the project is done let down..... |
|
So I completed the Dreamcatcher project and now I'm
suffering from project let down. That is the
feeling you get when you have immersed yourself in
one project and don't have a new one to immerse
yourself in again yet! :)
There are six other projects pending - pending
people getting their pics to me! I know I am not
the only procrastinator out there! In the meantime
I am plotting my own personal projects. I don't
seem to have the same motivation to do my own as I
do others - that's some kind of strange I think.
I am getting closer to posting new pics on the
site. Can't wait!

On the home stretch ..... |
|
The current Dreamcatcher project is almost
completed! It has had a few delays but overall it
has gone very well.
This project was very unique and I completely
enjoyed finding new paper I have never used before
and other new layout ideas - pushing outside the
box is a total thrill for me! One of the challenges
was the color "orange" which I usually really do
not like personally plus I haven't worked on a
wedding album that included orange :) But it has
been FUN!
I am very pleased and hope the bride & groom are as
well :)
The business grows in itty bitty spurts. Every once
in awhile someone will enquire about what I do :) I
try not to gush - it's hard when you enjoy
something so much - you want everyone else to enjoy
it just as much!
On the technical side - highspeed is getting closer
- hoping to soon have access and then be able to
really fill the site with examples of my work :)
Just posted a new Summer Sale - any size album, any
theme, ordered over the summer will be $15 off!
The only pitfall is not enough time! Life and work
just seems to get in the way! ha ha!
Happy Summer :)

Browsing around in Nfld :) |
|
We are spending this week in Nfld and I finally got
up the nerve to venture out in the rental car, on
my own, to find The Paperie :)
I have read about this store in the Canadian
Scrapbooker magazine and Mapquest said it was just
minutes away! After getting turned around a couple
of times I finally found it :)
The proprietor of the scrap shop was friendly and
happy to chat with me; she and her niece opened The
Paperie five years ago. It is a brightly lit, open
concept area with lots of interesting paper (of
course) and some other neat items I normally hadn't
seen back home. They have a whole seating area
where folks can go and sit and crop just on their
own time, with a play area beside it for the
children. It was a "buzzing" place with several
ladies sharing some time and the little ones
playing nearby. I was wishing I had packed my scrap
gear instead of a suitcase!
I was able to find some unique paper to add to the
current wedding album project I have on the go :)
Can't wait to get home and add some more layouts!
We have two more days to discover a few other
NON-scrappy sights :) See you on the mainland bye!

Creative Juices flowing..... |
|
As I have opportunity to spend time at my scrap
tables, I am enjoying the process of immersing
myself in a new wedding album project :)
This album has a very natural setting and it is
opening a new direction of creativity :)
I have added a guest book to my site; in hopes of
getting some feed back on what folks are thinking
when they visit.
One frustration that is ongoing for me with regards
to the site is the difficulty in getting photos
uploaded. We hear rumors that high speed internet
will be coming soon to our area which will
eliminate the dial-up frustrations!!!!
Here's hoping all the moms I know have a wonderful
Mother's Day tomorrow!
